Press Release: Saitek ready for Microsoft Vista

Bristol, 30 January 2007 – Saitek (www.saitek.com) today announced Windows Vista driver support for its entire current PC gaming product range.

Microsoft Vista is a major reworking of Windows which not only changes the look of the operating system, but also how it handles networking, media and security.

Available in six different versions designed for everyone from home users to large organisations, the Vista operating system increases the security of PC data and improves media handling to help users better organise and enjoy their digital photos, video and music.

Saitek has been working for some time to ensure full compliance of its product range with the personal user version of Vista on the day it launches. All products in Saitek’s current PC Gaming range will now ship with Vista drivers and existing customers are also able to download Vista drivers for their Saitek games controller from www.saitek.com.

Saitek Smart Technology (SST) programming software has also been rewritten to run on PCs with the Vista operating system and we are currently beta testing for imminent release (watch the website for regular updates). Customers who have created their own custom profiles for games in Windows 2000, XP or XP64 will be able to easily convert these to run on Vista and the new SST software by downloading conversion software from www.saitek.com.

Commenting on the Vista launch, Richard Neville, Saitek Category Manager for PC Gaming, said: “With the release of Windows Vista we have taken the opportunity to completely rewrite our powerful Saitek Smart Technology programming software from the ground up. This enables us to better account for new changes in operating system and PC technology, as well as including new programming features requested by our existing customers. We will be bringing these new features into the programming software via regular updates over the next few months; Windows XP and XP 64 owners will continue to be supported with these releases too.”
