I finally got the weapon editor to work with windows XP-thanks to your tip. The problem I have now is there are no weapons available-I even picked a few different aircraft, but nothing shows up. Any ideas? :dntknw:

make sure you open the weaponsdata.ini with the Weapons Editor in the Object/Weapons folder and then save it within the editor.

If you don't the game won't recognize the Weaponsdata.ini if you made any changes to it..

Could you give us some details?

where don't you have any weapons avbl?

is it on the loading screen of any plane?

If yes, you might be using the older weapons editor on a fully patched game..

It is on the loading screen of the aircraft. If I used the older weapon editor is there a fix to it?

I've gotten the weapons back for all of my aircraft. :good: I have two new problems that I've noticed. :dntknw: First, there are no fuel tanks on the F-14D, F-15E, and FA-18A. Second, the FA-18A are not always effective on their targets-bombs or missles will explode, but have no affect.

Hello all

I tried the weapons editor for the first time today, imported the WEAPONDATA.INI from the Objects/Weapons folder in WOV, but when I wanted to save I got an error window with "Unable to create for writing!". The changes were not saved and the editor closed. Am I doing something wrong and/or is there a manual available how to use the editor? Still a newbee, sorry.

Thanks

Yes, it would be good how to know how to actually use the merge function.

I got same error message when trying to add the weapons for the Kfir into the Weapon ini.

Finally I copied the weapons to the end of the weapondata.ini, and put nembers in sequence.

Then opened the WeaponEditor and Merged (or Saved - can't remember which) the weapon ini - all ok

But is that how it should be done?

Open your main weapondata.ini with the the wep editor then the file you want to merge into your main weapondata.ini. Then it should work. That is the way I have done. I will tell you this though, the merge function is moody. Sometimes it take me 4 or 5 tries to get it to actually do it. Hope this helps.

Hello all !

The weapons in the new file to be merged must be numbered from 001 on.

Otherwise it won't work.

There's no manual adding to weapondata.ini necessary then.
