Weapons pack question

Recommended Posts

Hi all :D

I seem to be having a problem installing Pasko's weapon pack, specifically the R-550 for the Mig-19.Im green to this game,so I expect its something I have done wrong, but heres what Ive done:

I extracted the Mig-19 LOADOUT.ini file from the object.cat file, and replaced it with the Loadout file from the pack

I placed the R-550.lod and .bmp file into the main object folder

I extracted and replaced the weapondata.ini and .dat files with files from the pack

I booted up the game but nothing

If anyone can point me in the right direction, youll have my eternal gratitude :D

Where did you put the Mig-19 loadout file?

It should be in the Mig-19 directory.

The R-550 files and the weaponsdata files should be in the objects directory.

I'll take a look at it tonight if I can

Thanxs for the reply, capun.I put all the files I got from the weapons pack into the main objects folder(after backing up,of course!)Is it preferable to extract ALL the files from the objects.cat file :?:

Thanks for youre patience :)

No, you only need to extract the files that you need to modify. BTW, It seems that there is a search hierarchy for the files eventually getting to a cat file. For example the insignia TGA files that are in the objects.cat file are first searched in the aircraft directory then the objects.cat file. If you extract the insignia.tga file (which would extract normally in the objects directory) and then modify it, the file will be bypassed and the file in the cat will be used.

First of all, capun, thanks for the directory tip.I placed the loadout file into the mig-19 folder, and hey presto,up popped the matra's!(Although I did have to edit the missile manufacture date,as I found I was flying against non-existant F-100's in single mission mode  )

Cheers,mate
