HighAce 0 Posted April 29, 2007 (edited) Welcome! This is quite obviously your first time here, as I have never posted this thread on the Combat Ace Forums in my life. So, a quick FAQ: Q: What is the gallery about? A: Every couple of months, I've created this thread surrounding the aviation of the past, and every one of those months I give it a set theme (see the title for the theme). Q: Are there any rules regarding the pictures we post? A: Yes! You must: 1: Post only 3 pictures at a time. 2: Post pictures appropriate for the subject. Just two simple things, that's all you have to follow. Q: Can we post pictures of people, too? A: Yes, but only if related to the theme. Q: Can we discuss pictures? A: Yes, just be appropriate in what you say. Q: Is there anything else we need to know? A: No. I design these threads for simplicity and enjoyment in that simplicity. Just remember to have a good time. THIS DAY IN MILITARY HISTORY (1900-2000): World War II 1945 : Benito Mussolini and his mistress are shot to death by an Italian freedom force. Cold War 1965 : U.S. troops land in the Dominican Republic. Vietnam War 1970 : Nixon approves Cambodian incursion. SOMETHING OF INTEREST: ASK A PILOT A QUESTION FOR THE RECORD: Due to the fact that the theme is World War 1, what could be more fitting that a visit to Wikipedia to read about the war itself? Please visit this link for the article. THIS THREAD IS DEDICATED TO 2nd LIEUTENANT RANDALL V. TUTTLE WHO FOUGHT AND DIED A TRUE AVIATOR IN THE PHILLIPINES INSIDE HIS P-47 AFTER BEING HIT BY GROUND FIRE. IT IS ALSO DEDICATED TO THE PILOTS OF ALL THE WARS IN WHICH WE HAVE HARNESSED PLANES TO FIGHT AND KILL. THEY, WHETHER FRIEND OR FOE, WERE INDEED THE GALLANT AND THE BRAVE. 2nd LIEUTENANT RANDALL V. TUTTLE (RIGHT) STANDS WITH HIS NATIVE FRIEND. RANDALL POSES ON THE WING OF HIS P-47. Edited April 29, 2007 by HighAce
