After installing the 30th August patch the game will crash on the loadup screen with an 'unexpected error' - no problems with prior patches.

 

Anybody have any idea's?

Get the latest DX9C..

Got them - this is on the send report - AppName: sfg.exe AppVer: 8.30.6.7 ModName: directdraw.dll

ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0000236c

Did you actually install the latest version of Direct X via the link on Thirdwires site - or are you assuming you have the correct version?

There are several Versions of Direct X 9c

It was the April 2007 version from Microsoft website - I'll give it another go though (from Thirdwires site)

april 07 is the latest, but your error message refers to some directx component

 

did you upgrade your video drivers too?

Not for a while, but I've just checked Nvidia's website and there are some new drivers on there - I'm downloading them now. I'll try it out and come back.

It works - weird, the drivers were the same version as on my 5 year olds PC and there was no problem on his rig. Mine must have got corrupted.
