Hello all,

I am new to the thirdwire sims and I just got WOE, but I notice that when I use the trackir that the view isn't as snappy/direct as in other sims that I play (e.g. IL2 1946). Almost like there is some kind of deadzone that slows my headmovement in the first few degrees away from forward view. I just hate the annoying deadzones because I am used to a direct response and not a delayed response.

It is not due to my TIR profile because I don't use deadzones in the TIR software, it's a 100% lineair profile. And that is what I would also like in the thirdwire sims.

So I would like to know if anybody can tell me how or if I can make changes in the Viewlist.ini to make the TIR respond directly? :dntknw:

Thx

Not sure - you could raise it at Thirdwires forum - but it may be there to keep the forward view steady.

Hadn't really noticed it that much till i started playing more F4

Hi,

you mean to keep the view steady to forward for aiming?

Could be..., but it is not logical for me. I aim the gun with the stickhand and not with the TIR.

I just like to be able to track the bandit quickly and direct without delay in all viewing directions.

But yes, I put the question also there in the thirdwire general discussion, pity that nobody answered there yet :dntknw: ?

I noticed this a while back, it happened in when TK added vector support for zooming in/out, before TIR had no "deadzone" around the center view . I mentioned it on the thirdwire forums and TK said he'd look into it but AFAIK nothing came of it.

Having the 6DOF vector addition helped significantly to make it feel more natural again for me though. And of course you get used to it after a while.

Ok I see...

Still it is strange, because in BOB2 Wings of Victory there is also support for the 6DOF but you don't get that delay...
