ShrikeHawk Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 It seems odd to me that that there is no sound when you collide with another aircraft. There oughta' be a wood crunching, canvas ripping, pilot screaming, BIG SOUND when you collide with another plane! So I have been poking around the .ini files trying to figure out how to add a sound to a specific event. Has anyone out there already done this research and figured out how to mod this? Cheers! gambit168 Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 No i havent yet, but thats because yer wingmen tend 2 take you out everytime in my formations , so i turned col's off , it gets a bit boring, startin a mission , 2 view the skin yer workin on , and only seeing a fireball!!!!! but I do wonna change some other sounds like the flak being the AAA sound and not the small explosion sound, which also doubles up as the plane crash sound , this does need addressing. but its good that u r tinkerin with the .ini's
ShrikeHawk Posted July 6, 2007 Author Posted July 6, 2007 Got this working! Now I can 'hear' that wing tearing off! hehehe.
+Tailspin Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Got this working! Now I can 'hear' that wing tearing off! hehehe. Cool...what did you use for the sound file? Why not post it?
ShrikeHawk Posted July 8, 2007 Author Posted July 8, 2007 Cool...what did you use for the sound file? Why not post it? You got it! I have posted it in the sound mods section. It's made from several different sounds I found on the internet. Cheers!
+Tailspin Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Very nice. I like it. I kind of missed the explosion when you hit the ground so I used Windows Sound Recorder and mixed the SmallExplosion.wav with your sound. Now it crunches real good and then goes BOOM! Thanks for the new sound.
ShrikeHawk Posted July 12, 2007 Author Posted July 12, 2007 Yeah, I was thinking the the same thing. I was missing the (earth-shattering) kaboom! So I recompiled the sound. I am using a free edition of WaveEdit by the way. I modified the TankGun sound and placed it at the start of the sound. I also thought the old sound had too much emphasis on the canvas-tearing part. So this new one has more of a meaty, wood-crunching sound to it. I am attaching it here. Cheers! ShrikeHawk
ShrikeHawk Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 I just posted a new version of my sound to the sound mods section. I think this one sounds a lot better. Cheers!
