I would like to create a new mission type : SAR or C-SAR, the reason is to add sound files that I have recorded from actual vietnam SAR's into the back and forth chatter one would hear over the radios in the target area. The sound files are apparently "cued" based on the action and mission type, but I have no idea how they are cued...

Unfortunately, one cannot add a new mission category, as mission types are limited to what's already coded into the dll files.

 

Regarding your sound file issue, why not simply combine all the radio chatter into one, long wav file, name it "SARchatter.wav", and then use it in place of the default wind sound?

Tried this, it's frustrating because the chatter gets faster as the aircraft gets faster - and at Mach 1 I have Alvin and the Chipmunks...
