newb help please

Hi All

have just got the game up and running. Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong as the slider for landing, in the prefs, seems to make no difference. ie Ive set it to hard but can hit the ground realy heavy yet no damage or crash. It seems to be stuck on easy all the time.

Hope somewon can help, as I am trying to get the FM as realistic as poss.

thanks for your reply.

I have both FM and landing set to hard but landing seems no more difficult on hard than easy. I can come in realy fast and smack into the ground hard but the aircraft doesn't even bounce just seems to stick to the ground and slowly come to a halt.

If I did this in Over Flanders Field then the aircaft would bounce back up into the air and probably break in half.

I was just wondering how accurate the Flight models are and if they can be tweaked in any way.

At the moment, so long as I'm the right way up it doesn't matter how fast or what angle or speed I come in at the aircraft will land with no damage. Kind of takes the fun out of it, I'm normally crap at landing!!

Landings are fairly easy in FE even on HARD. However you do bounce and you cannot land at any angle or speed without consequences. Something doesn't sound right.

I agree somethings not right . Am going to reinstall the prog just in case something has got screwed.

The only other thing I can think of that may make a difference is the Collision setting. Do you have it set to Hard also?

Yes I had everything set to hard. Reinstalled the game last night and although landing is easier than in other sims I did loose a wheel on a heavy landing, so looks like my original install was corrupt.

Is there an ini file that can be edited to make the aircraft more sensitive to a heavy landing and get it to bounce if you come in too hard?
