ziker Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I'm new to FE. First campaign mission I'm taking off in the dark? OK maybe, but then I'm enganged in the dark as well. The sun is beggining to show on the horizon but I"m still having serous truble seeing anything. did they really take off in the dark in WWI? maybe pree dawn lighting isn't modeled correctly?

Yes, the pre-dawn lighting is correct; and some bombing missions were done at night in the Great War. This was accomplished with little cockpit lights, a good sense of direction, being able to see in the dark with some small amount of clarity, and copious amounts of luck.
gambit168 Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Ha ya Ziker here in the uk, and the same in france from october until about mid may, you would be very lucky to see much at all before about 8am , it is very dark,& outside large cities there is on a lot of mornings freezin fog for the first few hunderd feet into the air , only from about may to the end of september would 4.30am be nice and light & a little warm

You can always use ALT-C to change the time of day so you can at least see better.
