New X52 Pro and Pro Pedals are great

Recommended Posts

I just got my Saitek X52 Pro stick/throttle and Pro Pedals.

There is a huge difference between the X36/X45 and the X52 Pro.

I haven't gotten to fly much since I have to manually program game profiles adapted from my X36/X45 profiles.

But what little time I have gotten to fly has been amazing.

The feel and precision easily exceeds the X36 (which is superior to the X45).

The additional buttons and axis inputs are very useful, especially the toggle buttons at the base of the stick and the extra mouse wheel/button on the front of the throttle in place ot the X36/X45 rudder rocker.

I hope I get a chance to fly this weekend.

I forgot to mention that I got the X-52 Pro for $100 from GoGamer.com

What a steal!

The must not have been selling too well.

At $200, I would have eventually bought the X-52 Pro, just a matter of time.

But at $100, I jumped on it and got the rudder pedals as well.

I have been able to program profiles I like.

With more buttons and axis, immersion is up.

I use the thumb slider on the throttle thrust vectoring on Harrier V/STOL fighters.

I don't have a use for the twisty stick axis yet, though, I could program in two more butons: left for one button, right for the other.

The toggle switches on the base are great for functions like dropping external tanks.

I don't have a use for the LCD display yet (though it is functional in MS Flight Sim X).

Perhaps I can think of a function and program it myself?

I just upgraded my HOTAS from X-52 to X-52 Pro and added rudders and throttle quadrant. That was a nice upgrade. The Pro rudders are a must have. The X-52 Pro is a lot better than my old X-45. I like what they did with the looks of the Pro. I find the quality very good. Using the new programming software and not as easy as the older software version but better. Got my throttle slider working for prop pitch for the WW-2 planes. Got a Saitek throttle Quadrant and for gear, flaps, open close canopy, it's great. Got it for my favorite sim. BOB WOV. Be nice if they ever made the Stick and throttle force feedback would be the cat's meow. The Saitek stuff is real nice. Very sad to hear about your pet, I am going through an event with my dog who's health is failing.

I am a huge fan of the X45...and I was concrete on the Thrustmaster until they went TopGun and subsequently IMNSHO smeared-out...but it is difficult to imagine it being better...except in looks...funny how the throttle looks a lot like a TQS but the stick id out of Flash Gordon...
