racinglad Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I downloaded the mod and installed according to the readme. But something must be wrong since the Menu screen is that of strike fighters. If you click the campaign option you basicaly get all the mod info, briefing, etc. But once you click fly it CTD. Ven on single missions. I want to fly the Nesher!! What gives! Quote
kukulino Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) I downloaded the mod and installed according to the readme. But something must be wrong since the Menu screen is that of strike fighters. If you click the campaign option you basicaly get all the mod info, briefing, etc. But once you click fly it CTD. Ven on single missions. I want to fly the Nesher!! What gives! In the menu folder in Yom _Kippur_1973.rar are awards only, so there are no changes in the SFP1 menu screen. I saw new menu screen for this campaign, but I forgot where. Just look on SFP1 links. I had many troubles with CTD, when I forgot copy terrain.cat file into new terrain folder. And I forgot rename it. Have you got copied Desert.cat into Mideast terrain folder? Is it renamed to Mideast? If not, game CTD in single mission and campaign. EDIT: I tried single mission with Nesher, and it works right. I copied Mideast terrain folder into WOE main terrain folder, than copied GermanyCE.cat (into Mideast terrain folder) ------ than renamed to Mideast.cat Nesher copied into aircraft folder. I have WOE, fully patched and with latest weapons pack. I tried the same in the SFP1 instalation (with JSF_Aggies Harrier campaign installed), and works right too (I mean single mission. I did not install full Yom Kippur campaign). Edited November 12, 2007 by kukulino Quote
racinglad Posted November 12, 2007 Author Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) Yeah, I renamed the desert.cat file. But insetad of copying the file into the mideast folder I moved all the contents of the mideast folder into the desert folder and renamed the folder to Mideast. Could that be the problem? kukulino Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) Yeah, I renamed the desert.cat file. But insetad of copying the file into the mideast folder I moved all the contents of the mideast folder into the desert folder and renamed the folder to Mideast. Could that be the problem? Mmm, I think yes, it is not good  So delete that folder, copy new Mideast terrain folder (it is in Yom Kippur pack) with Mideast files into Terrain main folder in SFP1 install. Copy Desert.cat and than rename it to Mideast.cat You know how you can do it. I did it, and I had no problems  And than tell us if that works right Edit: mmm, it is not necessary to delete that folder (rename it or cut and paste somewhere). If you delete it as first, you delete .cat file in this folder and this is not good way. I suppose that you have back up SFP1 install. It is not late for you, I hope. If it is late, make new SFP1 install. Edited November 12, 2007 by kukulino Quote
Wrench Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Yeah, I renamed the desert.cat file. But insetad of copying the file into the mideast folder I moved all the contents of the mideast folder into the desert folder and renamed the folder to Mideast. Could that be the problem? ah, yeah. Most definately will cause a problem Remember, terrains are all supposed to be in their OWN folder. You'd better restore that desert terrain to it's base state. Instead of copying/renaming the cat, have you tried this little tweek, in the Mideast's main ini?? this is from my Israel2 terrain intall, in WoE [Terrain]TerrainFullName=Israel 2 DataFile=Israel 2_data.INI TargetFile=Israel 2_targets.INI TargetTypeFile=Israel 2_types.INI MovementFile=Israel 2_movement.INI NationsFile=Israel 2_nations.INI BriefingText=Israel 2_briefing.INI DogfightFile=Israel 2_dogfight.INI DogfightOnly=FALSE CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat <- note pointer line back to GermanyCE terrain folder Longitude=29.0 Latitude=35.0 adjust the pointer for use of whichever original terrain cat is needed. Using that line will save you around 50-60 megs in HD space, by simply NOT having to create a copy of terrain cat There is also a distinct possiblitly that the Yom Kippur campaign WON'T work due to inconsistencies in the campaign file due to weapons pak, aircraft loadouts, the obvious terrain issues, ground objects...etc, etc, and of course, etc. Having never used, it, isn't it based of the original SF desert map, and NOT any of the Isreali terrains??? If so, there's another problem to be solved... More information, please. I'm assuming the Nesher works fine in the stock desert map (before you messed that up??) Wrench kevin stein Quote
