Difference between AN-M47A3 and AN-M47A4

So I've read here ( http://skyraider.org/hook/ordinfo.html#M-47A4 ) that the AN-M47 was dropped either retarded or armed depending on if it wanted to be used for smoke or incendiary purposes. Is that what the (incendiary) and (PWP) labels next to the weapon names in the loadout refere to?

 

Also, the weapons pack has both A3 and A4 versions of the incendiary and PWP types. What is the difference between the A3 and A4?

 

I checked the weapons delivery manual, but it didn't go into any details on the differences.
