+ace888 327 Posted May 7, 2008 All the aircraft in the photo are "E" models. The three that had gray and green camo are "upgraded" F-5E to full F-5EM, with new radar, new EFIS avionics, full HUD and other structural upgrades. The tan and brown camo is the original FAB's ordered F-5E waiting to be upgraded. As for the vertical tail. The vertical tail with the extended spin, if you will... was one of the E models that FAB ordered. The one without the tail are all ex-USAF Aggressor aircrafts that FAB got from the USA in the late 80's to early 90's, not sure the exact time frame. The extended spin is an improve version of the E/F for stability and aerodynamic improvements.
FastCargo 412 Posted May 7, 2008 The extended vertical stab was a modification that was applied to only some F-5Es, not all of them and not all at once. FastCargo
