weapon editor ineffective

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

i seem to be unable to use the weapons editor. i tried to add the AA-9 for the Mig-31: no weapons in game. next i recompiled an old weapondata.ini - one which works and has got the same time and date-stamp as my old weapondata.dat - same result: no more weapons in game.

so in essence: if i use the old *.dat, everything works, but if i try do recompile the *.ini (or add new weapons) then there is nothing left.

any idea, someone ?

thanks in advance

:dntknw:

Hi,

thanks, that did it !!!!!

i was not aware that there are two versions out, which are not compatible.

and hell, it is very difficult to find out which one is the newer, given that strange date-format "mmddyy" in their name.

thanks againa nd cheers !

You're welcome!

And please don't talk about date formats! (especially the strange US ones...) I can't see them anymore! (Did you ever realized how many different of them are used around the world?)

Shaolin,

there are a lot around - i prefer the simple yyyymmdd, so 20080818 is quite understandable (for non-USA only ?)

cheers

Believe me, I know how many (just three different combinations, plus two or four digits for year - but the seperating characters and the use of it... Hungary for example uses "yyy.mm.dd."...)!

And, at least for digital use, the yyyymmdd is definitely the best! (good for sorting, too!)

Btw - one question to the US guys around. What is the deeper meaning of that strange order (month before day - and the year after them???)? The only thing I find more confusing is the "full" date with weekday and time... (And the - let's call ist a little bit "outdatet" - measurement system  )

It's just a regional thing....I'm just as comfortable with DDMMYY as I am with MMDDYY.

I doubt the meaning is any different than that.
