  1. solved with the help of AI - forcing lodviewer to use dGPU and disabling optimization for windowed games did the trick. thanks
  2. sorry for the delay here are my specs: [PC-Spezifikationen] ==================================================================================== OS: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (Build 26200) Modell: HP OMEN by HP Laptop 16-c0xxx (BIOS: F.25) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics (16 CPUs), ~3.2GHz RAM: 16384MB (16 GB) ==================================================================================== iGPU: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics -> Speicher: 8352 MB (495 MB Dediziert / 7856 MB Shared) -> Treiber: 31.0.21925.1001 (20.05.2026) -> Monitor: 2560 x 1440 (32 bit) (165Hz) ==================================================================================== dGPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU -> Speicher: 15874 MB (8018 MB / 8 GB VRAM Dediziert) -> Treiber: 32.0.15.9282 ==================================================================================== the issue seems to be a general one since an fsx-model-viewer shows a black screen as well on my gaming-laptop andd works fine on the small one. as for microsoft net.framework: 4.8.1 is installed. as said before: the lod-viewer runs flawlessly on my "smaller" notebook, same OS, same framework. how do i force lodviewer to use a specific GPU? i do have access to the menue of the lodviewer, albeit only when hovering the mouse over the tabs. any idea: ? thanks, Sokol
  3. hi, yes, it did work before - and stills does so on my secondary notebook. it does not work on my main notebook. i do not have specs at hand right now, but it is a reasonable powerful device. both run on windows11.
  4. Hi, lod-viewer shows a black screen, not the familiar menue etc.. however, the menue is available and clickable behind that black veil - but nothing can be seen. i checked "settings", background color is white. any idea? cheers Sokol
  5. hi, after a detour to DCS I returned to SF2. no doubt, DCS is way advanced, a deep simulation and looks simply stunning, but - SF2 is way more versatile and for a casual simmer like me much more rewarding. you can fly almost any major and minor conflict or aircraft, modding is as easy as can get - and, honestly, painting aircraft is one of my favourite leisure "work", so ... Cheers Sokol
  6. @swambast: your vietnam - which terrain is it ? looks very, very good. is it available to the general public here ? required screenie.
  7. RIP - Iceman I liked him. He played Hamlet as well as J. Morrison. A great loss.
  8. hi, @wrench: i guessed that this is the problem; by publishing it here i wanted to make it known to the developpers of the revamp-series @potentesciamo: the "glitch" i mentioned is not the overlay of debug-informations - which is quite easyly avoided - but the hybrid mig-21/mig-17 in the shelter, sort of "overlayed" parking aircraft as Wrench pointed out. thank you for the answers ;-) cheers sokol
  9. i want to thank the team for their hard work and the joy it provides. may i show a minor glitch ? the vietnamese air force did many surpring thinges, but i guess this one was beyond their cabapilities ,-)
  10. @aetios thank you, sir. works fine ;-)
  11. Hi, I use reshade with good effects with DCS, but cannot get it to work with the SF2-series. reshade installs correctly and appears as usual in game, but it's panel freezes. i cannot click any item (settings, start ...). has anyone got it working ? any idea ? thx sokol
  12. btw the first picture shows a "Fitter" aka su-17 swing-wing fighter-bomber. the type way extensively used in Afghanistan, but never for the Soviet "top gun". they used mig-21, -23, -29. cheers sokol
  13. three iconic fighters
  14. One question: which software to you use to backup your ffiles ? I used syncback, which checks whether there are any changes or new files in the original install before copying them to the backup-system. But this takes ages, since I have to backup dcs, il-2 box, FSX and Sf2-stuff. any hint will be welcomed ;-) thx, sinzov
  15. There were in fact real emperors in America. These were Pedro 1 and Pedro 2 of Brazil, which was an empire for a few decades in the 19th century. Remember that AMERICA is a continent, not one of its many states, the USA (although this is often confused in the everyday language). ;-)
  16. WONDERful victory - flying F-4 Phantoms in the early 1950ies ;-)

    Su-35 prototype

the Su-35 surely one of the best releases for the SF-series ever. do you consider to release a skin-template ? it should be most welcomed, considering the various liveries around in the real world/tm cheers sokol
  18. Hi UllyB, good to see you around again how about a soviet airliner ? I would like to see the Tu-154 Careless in the game. It is one of the most beautiful airplanes ever, on par with the Boeing 707 (which we have) and the SE Caravelle (which we will never get ;-( give it a try sokol
  19. flying the Hump
  20. Wrench & Menrva, these are good news. is there a way for all those engaged in vietnam-stuff here at Combatace to combine their work ? it is a real pity that we have the big split between the DAT-people (their boss is, well, weird), the YAP-folks and Combatace, which is a real community and has always been the place of hope for me. do you consider a two-stage release procedure: - stage 1 - the aircraft - they would make a nice christmas present for the community - stage 2 - the terrain(s) ? of course it is your work and you decide ;-) please keep up the good work. cheers sokol
  21. Hi in 2020 Wrench & Co. have started a very intersting project on the French airwar in Indochina of the early 1950is and shown some teasing and promising screenshots in their screenshot thread. is this project still alive ? if so - two weeks ? cheers sokol
  22. for my part, i would very much appreciate to have those fine skins of yours on my hard drive ;-) you are a master of arts cheers sokol
  23. very nice, and very welcomed. do you consider supplying a template for the audience ? thank you for all your work ;-)
  24. a marvel of technology - 600 - 700 mio. $ a piece, flown by humans and/or artificial intelligence, dropping its smart payload anywhere in the world and undetectable by any enemy - but deep inside me the question looms: is this what the world really needs?
