WOI - A/C Textures fuzzy on Unlimited

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I just spent an hour rooting through the posts, in the knowledge base, and searching every word combination I could think of, and I still can't find the answer, so sorry if the answer to this question is "old news"...

I haven't touched WOI in ages - still stick with WOV mostly, but decided to see how it looked with my new video card... With my old car the "Unlimited" setting in WOI sure looked good, but my machine bogged down too much, so I knocked the texture setting down to high - and everything was fine.

After installing my new card, I switched the setting to unlimited - and the stock aircraft look absolutely awful... I know user-created aircraft are supposed to be on the high setting, but the stock a/c should look great... on high they do, but with the exception of the national markings, all the artwork is blurred to yuck...

What the heck am I doing wrong... and sorry again for bringing up a question that was answered ages ago!

Make sure that you're using anisotropic filtering (AF), and that it's not set to "application control" in your video card's control panel. I usually force 8x AF.

Thanks Fubar512 - I remembered it was something simple like that - but for the life of me I couldn't remember which setting it was...
