Question about computer performance

I have a fairley new, fairley large computer system, my WOE was running perfectly smooth with everything set to its highest level, and now all the sudden, it has got choppy. The ground graphics go by choppy instead of smooth, even with the graphics turned down now, but im having no problems with my other games. anyone have an idea?

Just a few aircraft, I dont remember off hand. would that make a difference?

I meant software-wise. It sounds as if something's running in the background, using up processor cycles. Perhaps even some form of spyware or trojan.
