Streakfalcon Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Did anyone else lose thier nuke effect after the patch? All other effects work fine Quote
WombRaider Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I bet I know what happened! When you patched the game, you got a new Missleobject.ini. You need to add this to it. It is a slightly modified version than lexx's. Open your MissleObject.ini and add this under the WeaponTypeList=WeaponData.dat part at the top. [KT003Effects] AirBurstEffectName=KT003 AirBurstSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [KT030Effects] AirBurstEffectName=KT030 AirBurstSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [KT300Effects] AirBurstEffectName=KT300 AirBurstSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [MT003Effects] AirBurstEffectName=MT003 AirBurstSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [MT030Effects] AirBurstEffectName=MT030 AirBurstSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [LKT000Effects] ObjectHitEffectName=LKT000 ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [LKT003Effects] ObjectHitEffectName=LKT003 ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [LKT030Effects] ObjectHitEffectName=LKT030 ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [LKT300Effects] ObjectHitEffectName=LKT300 ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 [LMT003Effects] ObjectHitEffectName=LMT003 ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav GroundHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav WaterHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav ObjectHitSoundName=Nuclear.wav CraterType=5 I hope this helps..... Lexx, I have too much fun nuking cities thanks to your mod. I cannot thank you enough for it. My only problem is the whole nuclear wav, I never hear it, not even once. I switched all my stuff to fuelairexplosives like julhelm did to make them more destructive, problem now is, they are too damn destructive. I can not only wipe out a whole airport, I have never lived to make it back to base to check for sunburn. I keep dying, even at 25000 feet. Julhelm's bombs have more punch than bunyap's offerings. I am thinking of integrating the MF weapons pack next, is it feasable to import the MF weaponpack into the one I already have? I have a freaking huge selection already though. Quote
+Julhelm Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 You're probably using the wrong release parameters. 25000 feet is really nothing - A good tactic is releasing at 40000+ feet, going into a diving turn to accelerate and floor it out of there. Of course, with the A-5 and F-101 you should be doing LABS "over the shoulder" bombing. Quote
Lexx_Luthor Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 My nucs grafix effects are pure grafix and must be used with weapons obtained elswhere that do have physical effects. However, the CombatAce download abstract or the included readme has tips on creating physical effects. Large yields well over 1MT are to be dropped from high altitude and slowed with parachute. Czech the weapons obtained elsewhere for physical effects and/or parachute descent. nuclear wav, I never hear it, not even once. Cos there is none. Its not something you would hear from the cockpit. That, and I don't have sound on my computer. I have a stereo to JAM if I want to hear something. It helps me relax during the Dogfight woof woof You can maybe shoehorn in some nuc.wavs from another nuc mod. Quote
jenrick Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Tac nuke profiles in general are going to require VERY high speeds (FB-111, B-58, A-5, etc at max burner) and release altitude of several K feet to survive if you're not toss bombing. Strategic nukes are going to be from as high and as fast as you can get, then as noted dive and turn away. Take a look at the century series fighters, and their contemporary bombers. All were designed to fly in the 40-60K altitude range at supersonics speeds due to the flight profiles need. Now if you just have to take out that come building and don't care about coming home, I have to say that dive bombing with strategic nukes can also be an amusing past time. -Jenrick Quote
