Target tracking

Hi all

 

Is it possible to make an aircraft mounted gun (eg on Cobra or Hind helos) track ground targets, or are they only to able to be static on the aircraft?

I remember reading somewhere that a/c mounted guns can only track enemy aircrafts.

EDIT: no wait, actually mounted guns cant move anywhere. tower guns controlled by AI can only track enemy a/c
