lederhosen 7 Posted January 21, 2009 Salute from the world of RB3d. I just downloaded the Gold Addition of FE...nice. My computer isn't good enough for the newer sims coming out but what the heck. So which downloads should I get for this game? Runs quite well, got a little fps drop in a larger furball but nothing serious.
+peter01 2 Posted January 23, 2009 Salute from the world of RB3d. I just downloaded the Gold Addition of FE...nice. My computer isn't good enough for the newer sims coming out but what the heck. So which downloads should I get for this game? Runs quite well, got a little fps drop in a larger furball but nothing serious. Hi Lederhosen, Fair question.... but not so easy to answer as there are a lot of mods available. And some don't work with newer versions of the game. If you have room on your hard drive I'd suggest you copy your FE directory, and call it something else eg "WW1 Modded", and install mods there. The stock game isn't big, shouldn't take much space on todays hard drives. Skins: Many great skins, available here at CA, its up to you. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...&showcat=59 Terrains: Many terrains or improved terrains are available, they should work okay: try Edwards terrain, my favourite, but if you have a slower machine there are less photorealistic ones available too eg from max188 and Gepard. Edward's is here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=3943. Look thru this download area for other terrain mods. Theres a very neat tracer mod enhancement, a must have: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=7936 Menu enhancement, a must have by Guitarclassic. This one is intro with video, there is also one without. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6685. There are many plane models available, nearly all here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...&showcat=70, and many very nice ones also here at A-Teams site (you must register and be approved, see instructions at that site): http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ Flight Models/FMs: Keep in mind that Thirdwire have changed the FMs and AI in EVERY patch, many won't work properly for the current version of FE. These will work for the current patch, by me: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=8064. Probably most two-seaters/bombers will be okay (maybe just), I wouldn't use any others - it becomes extremely frustrating, with many problems. Maybe others can add to this list with must have mods, or ones they like. Cheers
lederhosen 7 Posted January 24, 2009 Salute and thanks for the reply peter01. I'm amazed at just how small this game (MB wise) is. Got a million questions but they can wait.
+whiteknight06604 934 Posted January 24, 2009 Salute and thanks for the reply peter01. I'm amazed at just how small this game (MB wise) is. Got a million questions but they can wait. it starts out small but the files tend to get bloated as you add stuff.I have found to my suprise that I hve had installs as high as 12-15 gigs. It's amazing how fast things add up and how adicting it can be to add stuff.Enjoy
lederhosen 7 Posted January 24, 2009 Salute, exceprt for aeroplane add ons which I cant get at the moment I downloaded the lot, even modded the flanders terrain....super. Not quite sure about the FM's though seems pritty easy to fly most aircraft, but the difference between them is noticable. Any way of reducing the size of the Maps? seems a little much for 20 odd aircraft in a small area. Other than that its a nice looking Sim.
+sinbad 27 Posted January 25, 2009 Hi Lederhosen- It really helps manage things if you install the Generic Mod Enabler. Try this link to get it. It takes a little while to get used to it, but it will be a great time saver and avoid many mistakes later. http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Gene...oad-105848.html sinbad
