WOV No Worky..... new guy needs help

Okay so i am kinda new at the WOV thing, i downloaded a new patch. and everytime i try and play the game (so if i hit instant action, or FLY a mission) the screen turns blank and it reads "d3dx9_31.dll not installed. reinstall program and try again." or something along thouse lines. So and advice and help would be great. I have reinstall direct x as well and still have the same problem.

1. Did you install the patch directly over a modded or totally unmodded clean version of WOV?

2. XP or Vista?

3. What version of DX9 you using and where from?

3. i think i have direct x 9.0, i think i might have gotten it from microsoft.

I would start with going to the Microsoft web site and finding the absolute lastest version of Directx. (yes, it will be 9.0 but there have been many small updates to directx.)

You need the newest version of DX9 from microsoft.

 

Disregard whatever version your computer says it has...get the newest version. Get it directly from Microsoft, do not go anywhere else.

sorry to be a wet blanket, but be carefull with the advice you get from microsoft, we took there advice about a cfs-3 problem, took us a week to get the evry thing on the computer recoverd and running, and it diddent fix the problem!

It doesn't matter about advice, what matters is getting the correct version of DirectX from Microsoft. Period.

Well i renstalled direct x 9.0c and it works like i charm...... sweet thanks
