Indian Air Force will initially get the same PAK FA fifth-generation fighter as their Russian colleagues. Sukhoi general director Mikhail Pogosyan said Thursday that he would seek to unify the Russian and Indian requirements for the new aircraft. "The basic version of the fighter will be common", he explained. "The difference will be only in software".

Thing is that the Indian AF wants a two seat version while Russia is developing a single seat version.

Is Russia looking more at ground attack secondary while India is thinking of it primary then?

With planes like the Mirage 2000 and Su-30 I don't think India really needs to worry about the AA side as much, anyway. Multirole/ground attack is where the older planes are at.
