getting to know the Spad

Recommended Posts

Oh man, I'm starting to fall in love with the Spad, very enjoyable to fly!

Can somebody tell me what I'm looking at exactly? Some instruments I have a pretty good idea, but I'd like to make sure. Others I have no idea. Thanks.

1. Compass

8. Not an instrument, but I'm curious what purpose it had

Can't be expected to fly properly without knowing your instrumentation, can ya?

1. Compass

2. Air Pressure Gauge (I think)

3. RPM Indicator

4. Water Temperature Gauge (I think)

5. Oil Pressure Gauge

6. Airspeed Indicator

7. Altimeter

8. Fuel filler Cap

9. Fuel Gauge

All the best.

Have a look to the new "Vs" books by Osprey.

They have two on WW1 planes, Fokker D.VII Vs. Spad XIII and Fokker DrI Vs. Camel, and just cost like 15 € (dunno in US$)
