Rooster89 0 Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) What´s the best graphics settings for a rig like mine?Core2duo E8400 3,0 Ghz Geforce GTX 260 4 meg RAM Samsung 22 1680x1050 Thats close to my specs, but im running an E8500. I have all sliders at 5 (except for terrain, thats at 4 with the reccomendation from OBD of not exceeding it) and I get an average of 40 FPS with 20 minimum and 60 maximum FPS. Forgot to post this first time 'round but SD reminded me: its the same as he said: it differs for every machine. Hope I helped. -Rooster Edited March 24, 2009 by Rooster89
sitting_duck 3 Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) probably gonna get a lot of different answers for this question.. I started out moving my sliders down a bit....5 3 3 3 2,,,and moved all my card settings up gradually...when there was no noticeble difference in game play,,i started moving sliders back up.. I think there is a big differenc between 3 an 4 on the sliders,,,cant say that i notice much between 4 and 5 in my opionion,,most important settings,,,, aa,,,hate lines that arnt straight... af,,,hate when the scenery changes as you fly.... seems like vert sync should be always on.. triple buffer,,,seems like this should be checked to,,,still dont have a clue what it does. but,,before you do all this,,make sure your overides in cfs3config are set correctly... http://www.overflandersfields.com/Tips.htm and thanks for that tip about terrain rooster,,,wasnt aware of that,,, Edited March 24, 2009 by sitting_duck
Luiz Carlos 0 Posted March 25, 2009 Is there to much a difference between a GTX 260 864 MB RAM and the GTX 280 1GB RAM?
Cameljockey 3 Posted March 25, 2009 Ya'll both have me outclassed, but I run AA @ 16x and AF @ 16x with sliders set at 5,4,4,5,1 and almost never dip below 30fps. It has to be a hellacious furball, at low altitude, over the Front with a hellacious battle going on to get that low. Can't remember the rest of the settings off of the top of my head, but I do have the settings for an 8800GTX and a GTX 280 recommended by Polovski. If you're interested I'll look them up and post them. CJ
