Those bland Roland C.II's....

Recommended Posts

Recently, to up the ante a bit, I've been taking on 2-seaters in QC. Strictly a one-on-one duel and regularly getting my butt handed to me. Now, I've not seen C.II's from all units, but they do not seem to have acquirred a taste for flashy paint scheme's like the fighter squadrons. Am I correct in this, and if so, does anyone know why?

I saw a photo once of a Roland painted up like a fish, with scales all over the fuselage. Another had a big long snake weaving down its length.

Yeah, there are some very cool CII paint schemes, one even has the flying tiger mouth on the fuse like the WWII flying tigers...totally authentic as well, as well as some neat purple and charcoal colored schemes. I just don't think anyones taken the time to skin these yet.

ZZ.

Yeah, I flew that one in my brief career as a German buffer :)

In that case, I'm sure I will find them. Fact is, I've only just started to tangle with 2-seaters and have not methodically chosen a new Jasta every time. When Bullethead mentioned the fish scale pattern, it did ring a bell, tho' it's been some time since I first ran across it.
