Red-Dog 3 Posted May 14, 2009 Just found this site showing the aftermath of ariel combat. It might not be to every ones liking but this is what we all try to do to each other... http://www.earlyaviator.com/archive5.htm
Olham 164 Posted May 14, 2009 (edited) No, Red Dog, this doesn't happen to the ones we shoot down. Did you never realise, that Winder & Co. stop the planes from falling all the fatal way down ? It stops before, in mid air, and they are either regarded killed, or they can even carry on. No bloody war here. So calm down and carry on, fighter. Dej 17 Posted May 15, 2009 I doubt there's any person on this forum, who has any genuine interest in WW1 aviation history, hasn't considered what would have been the real-life implications of what we play for enjoyment. This sim is so immersive one cannot fail to feel the death of a pilot... and in that sleep of death, what dreams may come must give us pause...
rayfer 0 Posted May 15, 2009 Dej....you stated it perfectly from my perspective. Having survived 10 missions with a fellow wingman named Gustav Hoffman (who, by the way, confirmed my first kill) I was saddened when he failed to return from the 11th. It was like I knew him, he was a friend. Immersion....just like Dej wrote.
Cameljockey 3 Posted May 15, 2009 For those who are too lazy for all of that clicking, or are just in the mood for some Pavarotti, there's a slide show of many of these images set to Luciano's "Ave Maria". CJ
