How to play this game 'over the flanders'?

Recommended Posts

I like to play this game, but is a mod or a add-on or a stand alone game?

Is the game we are talking about right? http://www.overflandersfields.com (here you need Microsoft's FlightSimulator 3)

I hope you can make something clear to me.

Kind regards

Yes, it is the same sim, and you need CFS3. Best get yourself a DVD version, there something with the install

is easier or better. It's cheap at AMAZON.

Most questions will be answered in FAQ on the website; or here, in the "sticky threads" above. Best you read

all of that, while you wait for the sim. If you are German, and have difficult questions but language problems,

you can send me a PM - I'll try to help. (But I'll be on holidays now until 20. June).

One last thing: getting "OVER FLANDERS FIELDS - Between Heaven and Hell", you can't do anything wrong.

This is the greatest combat simulation I have ever flown - only IL2 could reach up to this.

Welcome aboard, Wolfje! Yes, you've come to the right place for "Over Flanders Fields: Between Heaven and Hell" (OFF:BHAH or just OFF for short).

As Ohlam says, OFF is a total conversion mod for Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator 3 (CFS3), not the civilian flight simulator they make. If you don't already have it, you can probably find it somewhere on the web for about $5 US. There are 2 different versions available, on a DVD and on CD. The advantage of the DVD vesion is that you don't need to keep the disc in the drive while playing OFF. The problem is, this is very hard to find. I myself could only find the CD version for a reasonable price. This works just as well, except I have to keep the CD in the drive.

I'm sure you will enjoy OFF. It's the best stand-alone flightsim I've ever played.

Bullethead,

BTW, I've enjoyed reading your philosophy of war posts. I'm currently reading John Keegan's "A History of Warfare" which describes the development of early warfare in the Middle East and elsewhere. Found a lot there that agrees with your sentiments.

I got tired of having to restart BHaH everytime I forget to replace the CD in the drive. Now if I could only find a good way to disengage "Starfarce" from my legal copy of LOMAC.

Being in the software industry, I can't bring myself to use cracked versions :).

And BTW, you just have to restart the mission if you forget to put in the CD, you don't have to restart OFF from scratch.

You're right about having to just restart the mission.

I've strung a lot of code myself, and understand the need to be paid for all of the hard work. But I find copyright protection schemes to be annoying, especially since I've upheld MY end of the bargain by paying for the software. I can often get around the requirement of having the CD in the drive by mounting ISOs.

The debate about this subject rages daily here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/foru...Digital_Ri.html To each his own...

Best regards

Hi Guys,

No offence to anybody as I agree everybody is entitled to their own opinion and "moral code",however,

this primma donna attitude to using "cracks" to protect damage to cd's when you have paid for the product is odd to me.

I paid for the whole IL2 series, every separate addon, and then again for 1946 but consider the crack essential and have no reservations whatsoever using it.

Having once rendered a costly game cd useless when I let the drawer shut on a half out cd (I'm probably not the only one who has done this) I now use cracks

whenever possible.

Again, I am not telling other people how they should live their lives, just putting my own thoughts "out there".

Cheers,

T&FO

Hi Guys,

Some of these posts have skated over the line, and I've had to whistle them down. No more talk about 'crack' please - we'll have the DEA after us! :warning2:

shredward,

Sorry, didn't realize that it was a potential legal issue for OBD.
