Axis aircraft numbers

Is there a way to increase the number of aircraft you intercept when flying an allied aircraft in WWII era campaigns. Whenever I'm flying an FW-190 there are as many as 20 B-17s waiting for me. But when I'm flying a P-51 there are never any more than 2 or so He-111s. I have enemy aircraft set to high, but this seems to have no effect when flying an allied aircraft.

Also, make sure you have the WW2 nations.ini

 

 

be advised, the IJN/IJAAF may cause a CTD; check my Japanese plane mods and WW2 terrain mods for the fix
