Amiot AAC-1 "Toucan"

Amiot AAC-1 "Toucan"

During the occupation of France the Amiot factory produced Ju-52/3m aircraft for the Axis war effort. After WWII the factory continued to produce the same aircraft but re-badged as the Amiot AAC-1. The "Toucan" was used by the Armee de l'Air and the Aeronavale until the early 1950s in Vietnam and Algeria.

While the aircraft produced after WWII didn't have a rear gunner, all the current models of the JU-52/3m have rear gunners. Fire Fox may produce a civilian/transport version in the future.

Enjoy

I like very much this post war "Tante Ju", good for a French colonial campaign.

I tried it on SF-2 putting the decals in the right place and turning on the shadows on, too ....

.. a real beauty.

I'm glad you like it. Since I've put all this effort into doing the corrugated skin, it would be a shame to waste it. If you have any ideas of other Tante Ju skins you would like to see, just drop me a line.

I think it was Portugal. The last time I looked on Google maps there was still a few Amiot AAC-1s in pieces at a Lisbon airfield.
