Hello. I have an issue with mission generator in Rolling Thunder. After about 2-4 missions the mission generator stucs into bombing Noi Bai airfield into oblivion. I've currently flown 5 missions into Noi Bai (strikes, escorts) in a row. Also all other strike assets are tasked the same target. It is quite interesting to see 20+ thuds and Canberras bomb a single place, but the repetition is boring.

details:

Oct 08 WoE, Green Hell 2

campaing is Navy F-8s, but the same issue is with F-4s and a-1s (all navy).

That is a known bug with WOV and the Oct 08 patch. There are three options:

1) Extract the campaign data.ini files for the 3 WOV campaigns and comment out all of the MiG units (the knowledge base section of the forum can instruct you on how to do this).

2) Use the 2006 patch

3) Buy SF2V and play that instead.

Let me guess.

Noi Bai is an active MiG airfield. So it gets overriding priority as target. So it is bombed until there are no more MiGs.

I would not comment out ALL the Migs.

Actually what i would do is relocate the Squadrons based there to other airbases. I have not had this issue so i'm not sure how many squadrons are based there, but if the problem is that too many squadrons are there and making that airbase a high priority target then spreading them around the map should fix it.

I just checked, There are 4 MiG 17 Squadrons based at Noi Bai, Try moving a couple of them to other airbases and see if that helps.

You might have to extract the WOVCAMPRT_DATA.INI from the .CAT file first, then just edit it with Notepad.

For Example...

Commenting out the MiG squadrons was the only way I ever got rid of that bug. I tried spreading units to other bases (and even adding more units at other bases), but none of it worked.
