+Hinchinbrooke Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 My shot of that craptacular effort, 'Daring' (from last week). Not likely to scare anyone given her condition. Can't move, can't fire, can't fart. What's the betting. RN reduced to 5 ships by 2018.
firehawkordy Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Almost as intimidating as the old Knox class Frigates the US Navy had in the 70'-90's. These things had no redundant systems, one gun, one missile launcher and one screw. If any of those go out in combat you are really screwed. Thankfully they are part of the Navy's history and not it's present. http://www.destroyerhistory.org/coldwar/ff...ephhewes_01.jpg

macelena Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) As I recall, the Oliver Hazzard Perry class wasn't much better either! I would say that given the exocet trials by HMS Sheffield and USS Stark, plus the versatility of the OHP and weapons capability, it´s an excellent ship for its time Edited July 2, 2009 by macelena
