Please help, trying to get 1920x1200 mainscreen

Hi all, and thanks for reading.

 

I bought FE Gold edition today, and looked trough the FAQ/Board here, also googled a ton, but can't find a definite answer.

 

I want the game menu to run at 1920x1200, the native resolution of my LCD. I see that there are 1920x1200 menu themes out for Wings over Europe and other Thirdwire Series games, so it must be possible?

 

Here in the forum, I found this code which is supposed to be in the MENUSYSTEM.INI:

 

StartMenu=MainScreen

Width=1024 <--------

Height=768 <--------

ColorDepth=32

TextFilename=MenuText.str

TimeDateTextFilename=TimeDate.str

MenuDataFilename=

FadeTime=0.25

WaitMouseCursor=WaitAnimation

 

However, I can't find this .ini file. I have only found (by using Explorer Search) a Startup.ini which has a [window] section, but changing the values there from 1024 and 786 doesn't change anything when I launch the sim.

 

It is a really small thing, but the constant switching of resolutions drives me nuts. Please help me.

 

My game install displays the Nov 2008 at bottom right, so I suppose it is the latest patch.

The menusystem.ini is in the menudata.CAT file located in the MENU folder. You'll have to use the SFP1e Cat. extractor utility. Its located in the WO* downloads section under tools and utilites, I think...or something like that.

Thank you, got it sorted. Shame that no one got around to make a true high-res background theme for the menus, I saw some nice ones for WoE or WoV.
