SlickWili 0 Posted February 3, 2004 I put my first hour into some single-player SOCOM II the other night. I wouldn't have even bothered, except for the fact that this was a gift found under the Xmas tree this year and my brother-in-law knows a good game when he sees one. :D My initial impression is that it looks to be a pretty good tactical sim. It is taking a bit to get used to a controller since I am so accustomed to keyboard/mouse play with games like the Rainbow Six series and CounterStrike. My one gripe so far is the AI. They duck and cover after an initial shot is fired (or if your cover is blown) but once they get behind something such as a tree, half wall or boulder, crouching down and shifting about reveals their location and head shots are easily attainable. I'll try bumping up the difficulty level to see if their behavior changes or not.
