File getting added in a pm

have been talking to a pilot in pms to help with a problem.

 

after sending him a reply, i noticed an attachement. I have no idea where it came from, it is from a game i dont play.

 

I searched the thread to see if it was something i might have copied from a reply i made to the other person, but there is nothing there that i can see.

Go here: Manage Attachments

 

See if that file appears on your list of attached files. Since it just appeared it *should* be near the top of the list, but look through the list if it's not at the top.

 

Let me know if you find it.

 

If you do then mystery solved ... somehow it was accidentally attached maybe by clicking the attachment button instead of the post button. I know I've done it a couple times myself when I stop reading and click because it's the next button right under the text editor. Brings to mind maybe somehow changing that button color.

 

Anyway .... if you do find it then you can delete it, or edit your PM to remove it.

Nope, its not there. I downloaded the file, and took a look at what it was. Its a pretty modern aircfraft I only have 2 game on this computer, ROF, and BHAH, so i knew it didnt come from me.

dont know if this has any bearing or not, but from the "forums" link, there is a section at the top that shows "recent gallery". It contains all the pics i have put in my album, but also includes one that is not mine. (the one of the jets)

That is the RECENT GALLERY images..... It displays the last 6 entries to any gallery album.

When you go to a members profile, and you click on "Send me a Message" you get a PM pop-up box, and you can not add an attachment.

When your in the forums and you click on the you get a PM pop-up box, and you can not add an attachment.

 

When you click on the little icon (and DAMN it's little)-->> <<-- next to their name in the forums to get the User Popup (there's no longer a drop down menu), and you click on the there, It take you to your messenger so you can start a conversation with the full use of an editor and attachment features.

 

The PM pop-up box is like PM Lite.

The little box is the same as clicking on the member name. It's just easier to start new conversation by using the MESSENGER Feature or going to the member's profile you want to start a conversation with and click the link as described above. The little image is a duplicate for browser compatibility but it links you to the same place as the link in the member's display name. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Have you tried that? because that is not what I get. Clicking on the username takes me to their full profile. Clicking on the little icon gives me a small pop-up profile. Funny thing is the URL displayed when hovering over either one is the SAME link.

That's part of the problem with the PM/Conversation system. There are several places where you click on "SEND ME A MESSAGE" or you Click on the icon and you get 2 different results.....but when you hover over either of these, you will see the same link.

 

Result #1= PM Lite

Result #2= Full Messenger with Attachment ability.

 

I like the PM Lite feature, but it should have a separate button for those that wish to use it, otherwise, when I want to send a PM or start a conversation, ALL links should go to the same place.
