It's been a while since I've used an intro movie, but it can be done. In the first-gen series it was under startup.ini, but now it looks like its under StrikeFighters2.ini in your SF2 main directory (not the mod directory). You'll have to designate a location of the startup movie. The line you're looking for is IntroMovieList= and I can't remember where IntroMovies.ini is located, or if that's just the name of the file I made to direct the game to the intro movie, that's just what my .ini is showing. I think the movie file had to be in .avi format, but there might be other acceptable formats, I just don't remember.

Try this:

Edit IntroMovieList= to IntroMovieList=IntroMovies.ini in your StrikeFighters2.ini

Make an .ini file called IntroMovies.ini in your main SF2 directory

Write in that file IntroMovie[000]=whatever your movie is.format <-(avi, mpeg, wma)

See if it works.

I don't know if you can throw them into campaigns.

I hope this helps a bit, sorry I'm so rusty.

Yes, actually. In the IntroMovies.ini, IntroMovie[000]= has to include the directory if its not right in the SF2 main directory i.e. IntroMovie[000]=directory\movie.format; but the thing is, I don't remember the verbage for it either, so it might not be IntroMovie[000], it could be Movie[xxx] or something else. I'm just about to start class ATM so I don't have it in front of me, when I get back I'll try to find my old install with the intro movie to see if I can't figure it out. Keep experimenting, though.

Found an archived copy on my backup hard drive. Here's what I've got from my readme (I uploaded it here probably a while back):

//

This is an intro movie for WoE; in order to install, extract the movie file and IntroMovies.ini into the WoE main directory ("C:\Program Files\Wings Over Europe" for example.) Alternatively, copy only the movie, open IntroMovies.ini and insert Name=intro.wmv. (should look like this):

[Movie001]

Name=intro.wmv

If you want to skip it, hit "esc" during play.

//

So it appears that you'll have to make an IntroMovies.ini if its not there yet. The verbage is [Moviexxx] and Name=name.format. Evidentally, it works with .wmv files. Of course, there's no guarantee this'll work in the 2-series, I've never tried it for that.
