schaetzle Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Grüß Gott! Is it possible to play OFF in a home network? Or is OFF only designed for Internet Multiplayer? Is possible to use the IPX protocol, or it is necessary to use the TCP/IP protocol also if you are using the multiplayer within a home network? Does the OFF recognize a wireless network? Thanks. +Polovski Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Yes it is possible to play on a LAN using TCP/IP. No idea re IPX. Same thing as playing CFS3. Check the multiplayer section of the OFF forums. Quote
+Olham Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 It may be, that you have to make all graphic settings in "workshop" identical in both systems, to make it work. That's what I read here some time ago (from Madmatt?). Quote
sitting_duck Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 (edited) read the sticky in the mp forum for setting up a host game. if the host is running thru a router, ports will have to be forwarded. once the host has a game up, the other computers can join either thru the external ip of the host, (whatsmyipaddress.com) or the internal ip of the host (ipconfig) and,,if you want, you can posts your games in the mp forum so others can join. if you get your game up, try both internal and external ips, but when i did mine i found using the internal ip produced alot of stuttering (not lag,,,the planes just stutter) i have no idea what ipx is.... themightysrc Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 "i have no idea what ipx is..." IPX/SPX is, if I recall correctly from pissing about with network protocols many years ago, another network system, not unlike TCP/IP, but nowhere near as good or popular. Quote

I was just gonna say that too! Quote
