Hey guys, I have it on my heart to share something with you that you might find advantages. Sorry this is available to US addresses only. As we have shared our hobbies and interests in a recent thread here I see so many readers of all genre's. I belong to an online paperback bookswap club. As an example I just recently received:

Many of the books I have received are hardcover, some 1st editions and some inscribed by author. Books on tape and CD are also available. If the books you want are not currently available you have a personal want list available of up to 200 books. You may well imagine that I have a list full of WWI and Age of Sail books and I do. But I can tell you that I am number 1 on the waitlist for most of the books I want. When a book on my list becomes available I can have auto accept for it or I may review the book to see if I still care to receive it.

 

This works either by paying for the book to be sent to you or by listing your unneeded/unwanted books that others then request from you. You send the book via media mail postage. When the book is received by requestor they acknowledge the fact and you are rewarded a credit. This credit then allows you to request an available book at no further charge to you, the sender pays the postage.

 

I have completed my collection of;

C.S. Forester-Hornblower series

Patrick O'Brian-Aubrey/Maturin series

Alexander Kent-Bolitho series

H.P. Lovecraft

and so many other books including "Ace of the Iron Cross" by Udet, "Hat in the Ring" by Frandsen, "Frank Luke: the Septmeber Rampage" by Haiber and I could go on and on.

 

So if you find money is short or you believe in recycling and you like/love to read this may be a good source of books for you and a way to share your unwanted books. There is no charge to join and no charge per transaction. I have saved a lot of money and not paid the site one cent. I've been at this for a year and a half now.

Bird Dog, Well I do have some books I would make available if you were on the Swap.

 

Mr. Lucky calling me lucky. Nice way to start my day after church, thanks. I love the A/M series and the lucky part is that I actually have read them all. I only wish there were the equivilant in the WWI Airwar Theatre. Perhaps someone from our forum will be the O'Brian of this subject.

 

Many of the books I get credit for sending I either got for free or 10 cents or a quarter. So for many of the wonderful books I receive I consider that I have them for the sake of the postage and a little bit of work.

rickety defintly keep an eye out for anything with the itlaina front and or austrian units, trying to find some info of the select few that got transfered to the western front late 17 early 18

Sorry Olham. Maybe there is such a website if you look. I wish this could be international. Most days I get at least one book in the mail. Yesterday I sent 9 books out. I get feedback from the people that get my books and they say that I wrap my books to make them bulletproof. Maybe that's because I get shot at so much in OFF, hehe.
