Siggi 10 Posted November 2, 2009 This weekend gone, the first of the DiD campaign, was put underway with a magnificent showing from all involved. And casualties were suprisingly light, with only one death and one capture.
Olham 164 Posted November 2, 2009 Well, the casualties will come, when care gets less, I'm afraid. But I sure fly very different to all my other campaigns. I am very occupied by looking around, checking if everyone else is there and alright, checking the map constantly, adjusting the speed to keep with the escort etc. When enemy craft approach, I care for taking the best position for me and my wings, before we clash. Then I must pilot in the best possible way for my gunner, without taking any risk of collision or being shot down. Checking map again - when over enemy terrain, I move towards own lines. When I get the chance, I attack with front gun. After fighting, take up course to target again, with no idea, how much ammo is left. Checking petrol gauge and altimeter (yes, we have those in cockpit, functioning), collecting my men and lead them to target area... In other words: stress - but also so much more immersive! And real good fun! And when we returned, and again I have not lost one of my other DFW crews, I feel a deep satisfaction.
Rickitycrate 10 Posted November 2, 2009 Thanks for the encouragement Siggi. I was wondering if we were doing well in sending our info and such. One of us has been promoted now and I wonder how we handle the transfer process. It would be great to maintain the current pilot log and add the fighter unit record to it. If this possible I am unsure of how to do it.
Mr. Lucky 0 Posted November 2, 2009 Siggi, can you tell where you got the images for the campaign menu page?
Siggi 10 Posted November 2, 2009 Siggi, can you tell where you got the images for the campaign menu page? I've been snarfing pics off the net for a few years, they're part of my extensive collection. I'm a con...cono...collector, innit.
CaptSopwith 26 Posted November 3, 2009 Thanks for the encouragement Siggi. I was wondering if we were doing well in sending our info and such. If this possible I am unsure of how to do it. Let me second this question RC. Unfortunately, in the midst of very busy RL issues, I cannot fly real time in the way I'd like to, that said, I've started an RFC24 campaign and know that I will have to "transfer" to another unit when the time comes. Any advice on how to do this within the data files in OFF? Many thanks in advance! Keep up the flying guys, I'm really enjoying reading the flight logs. Olham 164 Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) Mr.Lucky, try at "The Aerodrome" website. There must be illustrations/art somewhere. Also try "Google Pictures", with "ww1 art" or WWI illustration painting", like that. You should get a lot. Edited November 3, 2009 by Olham
