I think the DH5 model is built but there are no skins yet

To be sure, they're beavering away on them as we speak

We'll get screenies ... ... ...soon!

DH5 is a pleasant surprize in this add-on pack

With all the attention on the EV and Nupes, it slipped under the radar

I am surprised at the choice of a DH5...as they were mostly used in a training role, after failing to prove their worth as a dogfighter.

I can only assume that OBD have chosen it (and the Razor and large number of Nupes) because they have not been represented before in a Sim?

All addon craft are chosen so as to give squadron continuation - IOW all of teh craft in teh addon pack enable more complete squadron lifespans with less breaks due to missing craft.

Sure one can argue that some others that are missing may be more important etc etc but to us its simply a matter of filling in the gaps in a way thats interesting.

Yup. I"ve noticed several squadrons that go from DH2 to DH5 to SE5, but right now there's the gap in the middle.

Not at all. They equipped 5 squadrons from June to December. They were underpowered and undergunned, but so was much of the British fighter force at that time. They became the first ground attack squadrons, suffering heavy losses over the trenches, as most of you have found out when you operate down low over the Front. That role was taken over by several Camel and SE squadrons in 1918, and they suffered the same fate.

Shredward raises an interesting pint regarding mission selection. I'd like to see differentiation between the RFC fighter squadrons as they seemed to specialise in either air to air or air to ground. Seems wrong at present with 56 squadron getting ground attack missions. Same goes for the germans too.

Its easy to remedy though simply by editing the CountryFighterMissionTypesYear.txt files in the OFF\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\campaigns\CampaignData folder.

In my 1918 46 Squadron RFC campaign, I've edited so that its all patrols until the spring offensive starts after which I'll throw in the ground attack missions so we can 'shoot up the push'
