While I would never condone such actions, what with them being irresponsible, unsafe, etc. I can't help but be entertained by them.

The following is video of some guy, apparently somewhere in the southern U.S., buzzing his children and a group of their friends with an RC plane, while the kids shoot at the plane with a variety of fireworks. The video is shot from an onboard camera. There are some fairly close calls with the fireworks, especially from the one kid with the roman candles. I have to give the guy credit for being a decent pilot, both giving the kids opportunities at the plane, flying close enough to scatter them, and as far as I know, not maiming or killing anyone or destroying his plane in the process.

LOL! Does he qualify for a Darwin Award if he kills off all his kids?

Actually quite dangerous ...I remember reading of a guy getting a ruptured spleen when hit by an RC crate

We had a kid on a bike in Denver that spent a month in the hospital from getting hit by a model plane. Apparently something in the R/C gear failed, and the pilot / owner was trying to maintain control, and the thing spun in, and smacked him.

The old R/c Modeller used to run stories of mishaps like models through car windshields, and sun roofs, and some nasty ones from props spinning at high rpms, and what can happen. Don't know if they do that anymore or not, but it made you think, and test everything before you left for the field, and before each flight, look everything over. And if you change out battery packs, use a multi testor to check the integrity of the battery pack.

My first thought watching this was, how it seems to show a picture to the sentence:

"On a long enough timeline, the chance to survive the air combat in WW1 went towards zero."

When will one hit, I thought all the time.
