Creaghorn 10 Posted January 7, 2010 I'm not sure if i broke something, so i hope somebody can just confirm that everything is as it should. when going into "guns" folder, besides all those files, there are 3 ordinary textfiles saying: AIgunsNomal reargunsNormal PlayergunsHard playerguns hard? my settings in workshop are playerguns normal or realistic (forgot the term). so shouldn't in the guns folder the textfile also be playergunsNormal? i run into it accidentally when i lowered the spandau rate of fire to 6 per second. something i wanted to lower anyway because in some forum it was calculated that in average it was about 350 rounds per minute and when i watched blue max the other day the rate of fire was a lot slower also. especially when otto said that 40 rounds are 2 bursts of 3 seconds each, which mathematically confirms the calculation of 350 rounds per minute. anyway, is this textfile playergunshard normal and does everybody has it, or did i screw up something? sitting_duck 3 Posted January 7, 2010 aside from having the same files...i dont think any text file in you install effects the way the game plays...or any settings....ie,,they are just there for info purposes... for the most part,,the files that determine the game are xml files... at best,,they might get displayed somewhere,,,

Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted January 8, 2010 I have not altered my guns files, I have my guns set to normal in Workshop, and my playerguns setting is normal. Maybe try resetting your guns to fire at the default OBD setting and see what happens? One more thing before you reset your files. What is the date of the playerguns.txt file? If it is within the last day or so then I would say that changing the spandau's rate of fire DID change the setting. Another option would be to go into Workshop and change the player guns setting to easy and then look at the spandau's rate of fire to see if it has increased. Creaghorn 10 Posted January 8, 2010 ok. found out that xml-files always jump to default 9,... rounds/second after each mission. textfile playergunsHard is dated back to 2006 or something. so it seems it's not new. i threw the backed up xml files back and tried some QC. seems to be normal again, but i'll see it in campaign. don't want to have a kill with 2 bullets so i'll see if it's restored again. Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted January 8, 2010 You can prevent the xml file from resetting by right-clicking on the file name, choosing "Properties," and checking the read-only box.
Creaghorn 10 Posted January 8, 2010 jesus, i'm so stupid. i was looking like spike in tom&jerry when he looks into the mirror realizing he got tricked and turns into a donkey playergunsHard means it's hard for the player to damage the enemy. i thought it means the impact of the bullet is harder and easier to damage. so it IS how it should be. the other thing is i was changing it in the wrong folder. the right files are in the ww1 scenerie folder where i changed the rof in the Difficulty Hard folder to 6. now it keeps at 6. thank you, though, prop
Herr Prop-Wasche 7 Posted January 9, 2010 Don't feel so bad, C. I had you looking in the wrong folder!
