Lexx_Luthor 57 Posted January 15, 2010 (edited) Old 1967 article. B-36 could carry two 44,000 pounders. After dropping the first at 35kft, then rise to 40kft to drop the other. The collapsing tunnels idea is interesting. : : The two bombs were flown by the B-36 from Fort Worth to the bombing range at Muroc AFB, where the first bomb was released at 35,000 feet. Then Dillon took the plane to 40,000 feet, where the second one was dropped. The B-36 made the round trip nonstop, a flight of about 2900 miles. The official announcement proclaimed it “a normal test flight.”21 : : ~ http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchronicles/aureview/1967/mar-apr/coker.html Edited January 15, 2010 by Lexx_Luthor
