Saint19 0 Posted February 14, 2010 Hi all, I've done everything I could. I've got the HUD set to hard as well as the Visual Targeting. I hit Alt-D twice and nothings on screen .... I've also disabled the map icons. That's cool...great. Until I select a target. Then at the bottom center of the screen it shows the target identity "Fokker, SPAD, etc". How do I get it to NOT show any identifying text on screen? I want to be able to just find targets and move in closer or zoom in to identify. Thanx for your help. Saint19 0 Posted February 16, 2010 Any ideas at all? Thanx again.
Helmut_AUT 0 Posted February 16, 2010 In the Flight Folder, HUDDATA.INI should have all these info boxes listed. You might have to extract the file from a CAT archive. You can then try commenting out (adding // ) the lines that are for the info boxes. I don't use PL so I can't really be more specific...
Saint19 0 Posted February 16, 2010 Yeah I'm thinking 'bout not using padlock either. Thanx for the help. I'll give it a shot.
Gr.Viper 131 Posted February 16, 2010 IIRC, with high drawing distance settings, if you graphics card allows it, you can see the enemy much further away than the range of "lock on" and AI reaction. The downside is that you'll need to zoom in and scan the sky like a real pilot does. The plus side is that when you spot bandits 10km away you have the time to plan the approach and gain altitude. Saint19 0 Posted February 17, 2010 Well I tried the HUDDATA.INI. Not being an INI expert I couldn't get it to work. I changed the font size as well. But all I could do was make the lower left font smaller. But that's not a problem cuz it disappears when I ALT-D. But even with ALT-D it still gives me the target identification. Oh well. I also tried using SNAP views and no padlock. But I didn't like the views and can't zoom in while using a SNAP VIEW. Hmmmmmm....I don't mind panning I guess if it wasn't so slow to pan. I like the panning in BOB2....to me that was just right.
