Derk Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) A Danish T33 had to make an emergency landing at the closed Twenthe Airbase yesterday because of bad weather and technical problems. So far so good....... The 67 year old pilot (a real veteran I guess) was fined a E 2.000,= penalty for flying without a valid license............ s**t HAPPENS...... Europe is not like other continents that you have a long way to fly before to get in other country border...just a mistake and in a few minuts you are in a foreing country
Derk Posted March 27, 2010 Author Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) As it turned out, the plane had generator trouble and was on it's way from Billund (DK) via Nordholz to Niederrhein (ex RAF Laarbruch). The pilot, a 67 year old Briton, was told by Airtraffic Controll (Dutchmil)NOT to land at Twenthe (the field being closed since 2008) but a nice and fully intact 9000ft runway is not available everywhere. The pilot had a license allright but no type rating for the T-Bird. He had to spend the night at the police station (!) and was set free only this afternoon (!!!!!!) Guess he must have been a VERY dangerous and utterly criminal type........ I think, given the circumstances, he simply did a very good job !!!! Hou doe, Derk Edited March 27, 2010 by Derk
