rattler1 Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 Here are a couple of cockpit shots for the F-22 for Lockon1.12b. Still a work in progress but thought I would give you a quick look. Any suggestions welcome also any detailed shots of the side down panels would be nice. Quote
rattler1 Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Wow that looks damn good rattler! Thanks, but don't look to close,(lol) I am no painter by any stretch so my work ahead is to clean up the textures(better paint job) and keep looking for more detailed cockpit shots. Hard to find for the F-22. Lots of photos but no nice close-ups. I still want to do something in the center and have found a couple of different shots that just might work. When I get it finished you and Xray can have it if you like. Cheers. Pete Quote
+Dave Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 When they had open cockpit night in early March at the USAF museum they had the F-22 open and they had cardboard cutouts over the MFD's. Quote
rattler1 Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Hmm, I guess their not going to make it easy to see good detail. I will keep looking but very hard to find. Lots of wierd angle shots and some out of focus and some like you say have the MFD's covered. That's ok there must be a pic. somewhere. You can find some of the YF-22 and if you compare the F22A their is a lot of similar things in both cockpits, so just might be able to put a reasonable look to the cockpit. Won't be 100% but very close. Pete Quote
+X RAY Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Alphasim's FS9 F-22A I took some 360° shots in my last flight,maybe can be useful! Quote
+JediMaster Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 When they had open cockpit night in early March at the USAF museum they had the F-22 open and they had cardboard cutouts over the MFD's. Odd, I wouldn't think there'd be anything to see if the power was off...or was it on for some reason? Quote
rattler1 Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Alphasim's FS9 F-22A I took some 360° shots in my last flight, maybe can be useful! Thanks a LOT Xray. Very useful. Now I can see the wording more closely. I could see the style of gauges before but wording was a blur for the most part. There are some great shots if you were making a 3D model of the aircraft, very detailed but the cockpit for some reason is still hard to find and if you do, too hard to see details. What you have provided will help a lot. Thanks. Pete Quote
rattler1 Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Odd, I wouldn't think there'd be anything to see if the power was off...or was it on for some reason? would it be possible that some changes have been made and are classified still. Other than that, I am with you, even with power on, they would not have to show you much information. who knows. Quote
rattler1 Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 I have been in touch with Sim-Wolf about their F-22 and they will be working on it again. It may be a little while as they are converting things over to FC2. That is good news. They have a great start on a very nice mod.Cheers. Quote

rattler1 Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Thus why they had the card board fake MFD's I suppose. Yup, I know they are always trying to improve on the F22, from weapons to avionics. So ,yup, they would cover things up to the public. Sounds good to me. Quote
rattler1 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Question: the F-22 is of course a digital cockpit for the most part. Here is an idea for the gauges. the F-22 uses color to designate a lot of information and very seldom uses numbers for display. Attached is on the right side some color gauges. bothe day and night look. I would like your opinion on them. Like to much color or break them down to fewer colors etc. I am looking for input on this if you have the chance. I do have some other ideas but I would like to get other insight. Thanks for any help and suggestions. Pete Quote
rattler1 Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 I like less colors. Less distracting to me. Yes, I was thinking the same. I am changing them as we speak. Will send pic when I get this idea done.LOL. Lots of Ideas but feedback is greatly appreciated. After all more than me may use this. Looking at some F-22 pics now and seeing what I can do. Wife thought the same.LOL and see loves color. Quote
rattler1 Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 Ok, this is one idea that may work. Again give me your opinion please. Oh and a little bonus pic. as well. Quote
rattler1 Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 Is something like this , what you had in mind, still working away.LOL. Pete Quote
