Well having kept an eye on this sim since back in phase 2, I finally took the plunge and ordered this fine looking sim last friday. Since I've ordered OFF I must have watched every video available on youtube. At night when i go to sleep I dream of flying, the sights I will see, and will I be able to survive. Everyday of waiting is making me that much more anxious. Unfortunately after a week I am starting to get nervous that the postal service has found a way to wreck my fun...

Welcome to the OFF community, Eric!

It's like Christmas for children - the tension is growing, and you're afraid,

Father Christmas may not find your house.

But he always did, and so will the postman.

You could read all the tips and tricks in the stickies, the FAQs in the website

www.overflandersfields.com

or get a second job to be able to buy TrackIR - the experience next to really

flying these crates and a must-have IMHO.

I will add you to our OFF Forum Pilots Maps, which you find in the stickies above.

I appriciate the help and information. I've downloaded the patches(not taking any chances of losing internet connection on the day i get off), and probally read every scrap of information I can find. The one positive to waiting on the shipping is I was able to get my x52 programmed to cfs3, and re-learn its (slightly un-natural) interface. As to the trackir, i will probally have to wait till christmas. The cost for me getting off, my x52, and a decent gaming rig was to buy my wife a new car

How comes, the ladies always seem to get something out of a man's spending

on the things he earned by his hard labour?

Because what's yours is hers, and what's hers is hers.

Another theory of sound:

If a man speaks in the forest, and there is no woman to hear him: Is he still wrong?

Hihihi! I see, you all know, what I mean!

Sorry, eric, we often get carried away a bit from a topic in just 13 posts.

Hi there Eric....

You will like the X52. It's what I use. I set it up for bombers, and scouts. TIR is very good, but so are Pedals, which I personally like better.

Just posted are primiers on flying the aircraft in OFF.

Welcome aboard and good luck. I know you're in a hurry, but it will just be a carnage of dead pilots for a whilebye.gif , till you get better!

Uncleal has soome great points.

Cheers,

Gaw, I can't give you advice for women, asn it never helps anyone anyway.

They seem to be logic-proof.

For OFF, I give you a simple advice I learnt from Creaghorn and Hasse Wind:

Don't make your kill your success, but your return alive to your field.

Don't be proud of the kill tally, but of the number of wingmen, you did NOT lose.

Then you may last longer - and still collect a kill tally similar to most WW1 pilots.
