Newbie needs help

Hi, I've had SFP1 for quite awhile now, and recently started playing again. Im a Forgotten Battles junkie myself. Anyway how do you download the skins for the planes, for example the F100. I saw a skin that I like and downloaded it to the Objects/Aircraft/ and whatever plane it went to folder. I extracted it using Winzip and I apparently didnt do something right, because it doesnt show up in a drop down window when I pick out the plane. Im adept at downloading skins for Forgotten Battles, but that doesnt relate to SFP1 i know, because every site has their way of doing things. Can someone help me out on this please?

You need to add an entry to the plane ini file.

In your case the F-100D.ini file.

You add the textures sequentally, so for example this is my entries: (I skipped the front part of the ini file)

 

 

[TextureSet001]

Directory=USAFSilver1

Name=USAF Silver

Squadron=10TFS

Nation=USAF

Specular=1.00

Glossiness=0.50

Reflection=1.00

 

[TextureSet002]

Directory=FrenchSilver1

Name=France Silver

Squadron=FREC211

Nation=France

Specular=1.00

Glossiness=0.50

Reflection=1.00

 

Here you will add your texture so for example

 

 

[TextureSet003] ; next entry number

Directory=MyDirectory ; the name of the texture directory

Name=France Silver

Squadron= ; optional

Nation=USAF ; Plane nationality

Specular=1.00

Glossiness=0.50

Reflection=1.00

 

Be careful where you place your files. The texture maps have to be in "MyDirectory" not under another subdirectory.
