TeargasHorse Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I'm trying to intercept B-29s at altitudes above 20,000 feet, I'm switching on the turbos to stage 2, yet I still lose power and end up burning out the engine. Do I need to adjust mixture too? The auto pilot has no problems accelerating and maneuvering (like the AI would have a problem).

It depends on the difficulty model and the plane you are flying but check the mixture. If you see a dark smoke trail behind your airplane it means you must adjust mixture, reduce mixture till the dark smoke desapears.
TeargasHorse Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 (edited) Flying Yak 9U, with difficult engine management. I'll try adjusting the mixture settings. 10 minutes later... Adjusting the mixture to 80% removed the smoke and restored power. Thanks fellas! Edited August 25, 2010 by TeargasHorse
