Dysko 93 Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Hey, a new section! Wow! I have already posted some photos from Frecce Tricolori's 50th anniversary in this thread: http://combatace.com...th-anniversary/ I have taken many other photos, but mainly of civilian aircraft since I live away from military airports. I live near Milan Linate airport, which is considered the Italian biz-jet heaven And lots of MD-80s too And few foreign airlines [ During the Grand Prix of Italy there are lots of choppers going back and forth from the Monza racetrack And sometimes there are some seaplanes in the nearby seaplane base And now some shots from Albenga airport A Sikorsky/Erickson S-64F firefighting helicopter... whoa, it's huge! Sometimes I go to Milan Malpensa airport, Milan's intercontinental airport Not a common sight here Shots taken from the tower The first A380 in Italy Photos taken visiting Piacenza's military airport A small airshow, celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Rome-Tokyo raid, in Venegono airport (where Aermacchis are built) Calcinate del Pesce's gliderport Bresso, Milan's general aviation airport A SAR helicopter used by the nearby hospital And finally some shots from Bergamo Orio al Serio, Milan's "low cost" airport Thank you for watching! Dysko 93 Posted November 11, 2010 What that Russian plane the world's largest cargo plane or something? Nope... it's an Ilyushin Il-76 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Il-76). The airplane you may be referring to is the Antonov An-124 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An-124), which also rarely lands at Malpensa. I have never had the chance to see it. There is also the even bigger Antonov An-225 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An-225), but only one has been built, and it's highly unlikely I'll ever have the chance to see it.
